How does Fertility plus work?
Before fertilising an egg, sperm must prepare for their journey
- Sperm undergo a series of physical and biochemical changes
to do this
- This biological change is known as capacitation
- The speed of capacitation differs from bull to bull
- The egg lasts for 34 hours
- Sperm from a single bull is only viable for 20 hours
- Sperm in Fertility Plus can last for 34 hours!
Years of innovative research allow Genus to specifically select sperm from those bulls which capacitate quickly, and slowly. This means that there will always be sperm available to fertilise your cows egg, no matter how early or late she ovulates.
