UK The 17th February 2010 was yet another exciting day for Picston Shottle. To his already long list of achievements, we can now add sire of a National Show Champion. Yesterday, Berryholme Shottle Flo EX-3yr (Shottle x EX94 Storm) was crowned Supreme Champion Holstein at the UK All Breeds Show 2010. This superb second calver was not even showed as a heifer, highlighting how Shottle daughters develop as they mature. Flo is full sister to Berryholme Full-Throttle who is owned by ABS St Jacobs and has been tested in Canada. |

UK In October the Northern Dairy Expo 2008 took place with a catalogued entry of 75 head from more than 25 exhibitors. The cattle on show came from all over Cumbria, Lancashire, North Yorkshire and as far a field as Staffordshire to compete. Genus ABS had great success in the youngstock section with The Michael Armstrong perpetual trophy for the champion calf being presented to Bilsrow Shottle Olympia 3, a calf of Picston Shottle. This calf went on to win the calf championship having won the first class of the evening. |

| The show also included the "Mega-Moo Lotto" draw. Five show calves were paraded around the show ring and the ticket was drawn by the Show Chairman for the choice of calf worth £3,000. The winning ticket belonged to one year old William Garnett of Ackenthwaite Farm, Crooklands whose grandparents are Northern Expo committee members. Wilson chose the calf from The Isles Family of Sunny Bank Farm, Greenhalgh, Preston - Sunnybanks Affirmed Vall, a calf from BKB Affirmed, on behalf of his Grandson. |  |
Southern Ireland Shottle had a good day winning the August calf class with a real styler bredby T. Murphy, Kilkenny. A Shottle calf was second in the March calf class anda Shottle in milk won the confined heifer class. Kite also had a good as well, with a second in the confined heifer in milk classand first in the mature (Maiden) Class. |
