Dick Smith - USA I have been part of ABS for 30 years and I am currently head of Sire Acquisition. In 1975, I designed and implemented the original prototype of linear type evaluation as we know it today. We now place greater emphasis on nutrient density of Holstein milk, improved reproductive performance and longer herd life. The most influential female in our genetics programme at this time is Snow-N Denises Dellia. As we study the breeding success of her daughters, we have identified numerous branches of the family that continue to be highly attractive. |

Susie Martin - USA I have been working with ABS for 15 years as a Regional Sire Analyst. I think that successful dairies are seeking profitable cattle with longevity that are enjoyable to work with and look at. In addition, pedigree and the success of the cow family are very important when selecting bull mothers and mating sires. Snow-N Denises Dellia has had the greatest impact in the breed through her sons such as Die-Hard and Durham. They have added positive attributes to the Holstein breed, particularly in their outstanding health traits such as calving ease and productive life. |

Paul Trapp - USA I have worked for ABS for over 10 years, five years in progeny promotions and five years as a Regional Sire Analyst. I believe we need to breed cows that last in commercial environments. Cattle that produce high quality milk and get better with age. Snow-N Denises Dellia is from a modern day cow breeding family with low somatic cell counts, high life span, low calving ease with great type and udders. |

Andrew Rutter - UK
I have worked for Genus ABS for over four years and I am now responsible for sire acquisition in the UK and Northern Europe.
Longevity and cattle that develop with age is my aim. Components and management traits also remain important parts to the UK's breeding programme. I love sires that leave a stamp and produce hard working easy to manage cattle such as Outside, Addison, Mtoto and Convincer.
Families that have really impressed me with sheer quality in every branch are the Cadets from MOET, Dollys from Kirkblythe, Sharons from Tallent and Picston, Nuggets from Aintree and Lymes from Woodmarsh.
