South Devon

Foxhole Menzies
South Devon cattle have existed in south-west England for around 400 years. They are likely to have come to England from Europe.

South Devons are well balanced, deep bodied and evenly fleshed. The meat is well marbled, fine grained with good flavour. It is the largest of the native breeds being large framed, more muscular in shape and later maturing. The breed also yields leaner carcasses and is therefore ideal as a terminal sire.
