Galloway and Belted Galloway

The Galloways originate from south-west Scotland. It is said that the Galloway has never been crossed with any other breed and is therefore the oldest breed in Britain. The Belted Galloway is a distinctive strain of the Galloways.

The breed is naturally polled with a medium to small frame, a deep torso and short legs. The breed is known for its docility, mothering ability and meat quality.

Galloways are ideal for hill farmers, as they are hardy and good at rearing calves.
