The Luing breed is thought to be the newest of the British beef breeds. Originating on the Isle of Luing off the west coast of Scotland. The Luing owes its origin to the crossbreeding of Beef Shorthorn and Highland cattle breeds. A beef animal bred for its ability to withstand wet west coasts climate, Luing animals are renowned good foragers and make excellent mothers.
